    Who is Tobi Gbile as a professional, and what is she passionate about?


    For starters - she graduated from the University of Chicago in March 2018 from the Trott Business Program, with a wide array of experience as an entertainment journalist at Bustle, business journalist at Crain's, and marketing intern at Sony Music Entertainment and Viacom Media Networks under her belt before she tossed her cap and gown.


    From September 2018 - July 2021, she called Germany home, where she held multiple positions in the adidas Originals and Cultural Collaborations team, and was gifted the immense opportunity of manageing the product creation process for two BIPOC changemakers, Wales Bonner and Kerwin Frost.


    In August 2021, she decided to leave her newfound home in Europe behind for the opportunity to become the apparel product marketing manager for the adidas x Ivy Park by Beyoncé collaboration based in her dream city of Los Angeles, California.


    In her spare time, she's the Creative Director for the multi-hyphenate rapper TGBEAM, making strategic and creative decisions to grow his fanbase.


    When she's not practicing her juggling act, she's writing and podcasting. Her first teen fiction novel, "The Stunnerz", was published in the prime of her teenage years at age 16, and she continues her love for writing on her lifestyle website, Girl With Purple Gucci's, and she hosts a widely distributed podcast with her hometown friends: The Weekly Baecay.


    Long story, semi-short, storytelling is running through her veins, and she's constantly looking to grow and evolve, professionally and personally, so that she will be better suited to share these stories with the world.

    The Walt Disney Company - Senior Campaign Manager, Fashion & Lifestyle

    • Manage the global work streams of the fashion (luxury, beauty and high street) and pop culture campaigns for a major capstone at one of the world's most influential companies.

    adidas x Beyoncé | IVY PARK - Product Marketing Manager

    • Manage the creative concept to product creation for the IVY PARK apparel collections
    • Onboard, train, and manage junior members of team on their marketing journey at the brand

    adidas Originals (Global) - Global Brand Marketing

    • Rotate within numerous functions within the brand marketing division of the adidas Originals global business unit based in Herzogenaurach, Germany and Shanghai, China

    adidas U.S. Originals - Brand Marketing Intern

    • Ideated retail activation concepts for product releases to drive consumer engagement and sell-through. Established performance metrics to illustrate the success of these activations. Presented concepts to entire business unit (BU)
    • Researched and identified 15+ influencers and artists for retail experience events in LA, Chicago, Miami, and Boston
    • Coordinated 2+ consumer studies with external agency to ensure product launch success, disseminated findings to BU
    • Led marketing focus group of female employees from 6 different BU’s. Presented findings to entire Originals BU
    • Managed budget tracker and processed invoices through internal systems. Served as liaison between agencies and Originals brand team

    Nickelodeon - Business Development Intern

    • Used accounting knowledge to analyze financial statements and research new categories and prospects using various platforms and data analytics
    • Created, managed, and presented lead locator documents weekly to the Chicago and New York VPS and Viacom Sales teams in order to keep the executives up to date on client and prospect activity
    • Presented partnership prospects to business development/sales team and media/marketing agencies for various tentpole events like the Kids Choice Awards and Kids Choice Sports Awards. 

    WONGDOODY - Account Management Intern

    • Developed campaign concepts and ideas for various sports sponsorships with the Dodgers, Clippers, and the LA Rams
    • Managed the Wongtern website by writing articles, creating content, and interviewing agency executives on happenings both inside and outside of the agency
    • Analyzed competition, researched, and created budget plans and ideas in order to assist account coordinators and account executives leading large teams
    • Served as the liaison between the clients and other departments within the agency in order to orchestrate their projects
    • Created decks and presentations to show clients and sponsors in order to help them reach their advertising goals

    Crain's National - Business Editorial Writer

    • Conducted 50+ interviews of executives in various industries for a series titled "If I Knew Then" (which was later pitched to a major news network); interviewees included  Project Runway's Jake Wall, and Booster's Andrew Moss
    • Wrote articles across a variety of beats, interviewed business executives; collaborated with upper management
    • Created high-value, SEO efficient headlines, and created social media lists using Radiant 6
    • Set up meetings and overcome collaborative logistics internally and externally
    • Created an editorial calendar to anticipate trends

    Bustle - Entertainment Writer

    • Wrote groundbreaking articles on various entertainment and pop culture events that caught the eyes of everyone from the cast of Mean Girl's to female advocate Amy Poehler
    • Researched and wrote 8 articles each weekend on current entertainment events for publication on various platforms
    • Collaborated with 6 entertainment editors weekly to pitch and select articles
    • Utilized Google Trends to serve as first source of what was trending in the entertainment and pop culture universe

    Sony Music Entertainment - Grassroots & Digital Marketing

    • Conducted grassroots and digital marketing campaigns for various artists such as Joey Bada$$, Daya, Kelsea Ballerini, Catfish & the Bottlemen, and The Ting Tings
    • Developed social media messaging targeted to artist/product demographic in order to promote up and coming artists
    • Interviewed 200+ event attendees to solicit feedback
    • Conducted consumer research using social media and live events
    • Communicated with PR teams and artists
    • Produced marketing reports weekly for the internal marketing agency at RED Distribution
